U.S. Fiancee Visa Process

The US Visa process in Bangkok starts with a meeting at our offices in Thailand. This is where the process gets started. All the needed documentation is collected and translated so that all the documents are in order. Once all the documents have been collected the process then goes to the US where the documents are submitted to the USCIS. Depending on where you live in the US this is filed with the USCIS under which your state falls.

Should there be any missing documents are additional documents needed the USCIS will send you a letter for a ‘Call for Evidence’ and they will advise as to which documents are still needed. Each time they request documents it takes longer to obtain the visa. This is why the first meeting in Bangkok is very important. It will ensure that there are no delays in the K1 Visa process. Once the documents are in order you will receive a letter called the Notice of Action 1.

Once the USCIS is done with the documents they will now send the documents to the National Visa Center for further processing. This is where the police and Homeland Security views the documents to ensure that they are correct and that your fiancee does not pose a threat to the US government. You will no get a Notice of Action 2 and the documents are sent to the US Embassy in Bangkok for an interview for the visa. The US Embassy in Bangkok will now call your fiancee to see the date for the interview.

Once the interview is complete, the visa will normally be issued shortly thereafter.
